Nikki Sinclair, one of the eight finalists on Horse & Country TV’s Omega All Star Academy programme, spoke to easibed about her time filming the show and what she and her horse Jake think about our bedding.
Nikki, who is from Perthshire, had the furthest to travel to reach Talland School of Equitation near Cirencester for the filming of the Omega All Star Academy, and said the 12 hour journey was really exhausting. But as soon as she arrived, she and her horse Jake found their stable and took no time settling in.
“I’d not heard of easibed before being picked for the All Star Academy and was looking forward to seeing what the bedding was like with Jake as he is a dirty horse that always kicks his poo around his stable. I love the texture, it’s much finer than I was expecting,” said Nikki.
The Omega All Star Academy is now in its third year and easibed has provided the bedding for the eight finalists since the programme began. Claire Hayward, Product Sales Manager for easibed, said: “It’s great to be part of this exciting show where the finalists are really put through their paces and have to not only demonstrate their equestrian skills, but also their presenting skills under such an enormous amount of pressure.”
Nikki, who has switched Jake permanently onto easibed since trying it as part of the show, said: “I couldn’t believe I was picked to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience, to be trained by the greats. It was all so intense. We didn’t know what we were doing from one hour to the next and were only told shortly before where we had to be, with or without our horses! I was really nervous but all the finalists got on so well, and are all genuinely friendly. I think I have made some lifelong friends.”
Since being at Talland Nikki chose to move Jake onto easibed because of how easy and quick it is to muck out. “I’ve got two young children and a I’m a Geography teacher, so my time is precious. It literally takes me 10 minutes to muck out, it’s super absorbent and is so much more economical than my previous bedding – I was throwing half of that away,” added Nikki.
At easibed we’re looking forward to our Sunday nights starting this weekend, watching the eight finalists being taught by some of the leading names in equestrian sport plus seeing who will be crowned the 2018 All Star winner in the final episode on Sunday 23 December at 9pm.
