The latest Riding for the Disabled Association Centre (RDA) in Much Wenlock, Shropshire was formally opened by HRH Princess Anne this April.
Many of the clients that use the facilities at the Centre along with supporters of the charity were able to meet HRH and watch demonstrations of Vaulting and Carriage Driving.
easibed dust free bedding is delighted to be able to support the RDA Centre with bedding this year. Speaking to Danny Budd, the Yard Manager: “easibed is so quick to muck out, which is really important for all the volunteers that help us every week and means there’s more time to help our clients.”
Working with Hippotiles, easibed works really well by letting the wet drain through to the base of the bed through the Hippotile and then drains away with this stable block having a porous base.
“We raised the enormous amount of £1.4m over six years to enable us to build this fantastic facility which will allow so many more disabled individuals to access the kind of activities that are proven to promote good health and well-being,” said Danny.
Up to 60 clients visit the new RDA Centre in Much Wenlock every week, many of whom will be riding Sion, who is 14.2hh and the perfect horse for all the disciplines. “Sion was lucky enough to perform in front of HRH; he knew something special was happening, but he took it all in his stride,” Danny added.
Also pictured is the cheeky Caspian horse, Caspa who stands at only 12hh. “He’s great for the children who need hippotherapy, where horse riding is used for physiotherapy and can help with coordination, balance and strength,” said Danny.
The site features a massive arena being 70m x 30m, perfect for the indoor carriage riding and has all the latest facilities to support everyone who uses the centre.
