It’s great to hear from easibed ambassador Scarlett Cox-Lomax with an update on her year so far.
Scarlett has had another successful year with her 133cm working hunter pony Lillibet, competing at both the Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) at Hickstead and Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at the NEC.
But due to Scarlett’s age, this is the last year with Lillibet in the working hunter class. “I’ve decided to keep hold of Lillibet because she’s versatile and we will now concentrate on the BE Arena Eventing and JAS Winter Series, hoping to qualify for both championships,” said Scarlett.
This is a new venture for them both so in preparation Scarlett has been taking full advantage of the local facilities at Kelsall Hill Equestrian in Tarporley. “Using their winter arena eventing competitions to practise my timings is crucial to our success over the winter BE series,” added Scarlett. To date, Scarlett has made a huge improvement with Lillibet and even won the Antrobus Riding Club Arena Eventing class last month!
Scarlett is also riding Lani, a 138cm Welsh C mare for her owners, in preparation to sell and also a 138cm coloured cob Apple, where she is focussing on improving consistency and flow whilst jumping.
Finally, Scarlett has also been handed the reins of Nelly Kid, a 148cm German bred mare. “I’m working to bring Nelly back up the British Showjumping ranks now, so becoming more competitive in the smaller classes working our way up to 110cm Foxhunter classes.”
I think we all agree Scarlett is one busy and dedicated young lady.
